Mozilla Thunderbird Bug Day!

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

I’ve finally managed to get some work done this week, and I’m hoping the keep on a roll. I just found out that today is the first Thunderbird Bug Day. I feel Firefox Bug Days are really effective, and help clear through a lot of different bugs on the platform. They’re also a great way to become familiar with the large codebase, and learn how development decisions are made (in real time) which is pretty exciting. The action’s taking place in #bugday on irc.mozilla.org. Also, the Mozilla Addons site has been given a slick visual refresh.

My 5 today: #21235 (glibc), #204927 (firefox-3.0), #196376 (gdm), #206401 (gnome-screensaver), #21186 (grub)

Slick political newsblog MobLogic.tv made me laugh my face off. This guy keeps it real.

The Pirate’s Dilemma

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

I have finally started reading Matt Mason’s The Pirate’s Dilemma, and it’s been a good ride so far. Torrentfreak has a video up on Mason’s keynote at the Medici Summit. He’s a really relaxed speaker, and has a great message about the changes that’re challenging the status quo.

Ubuntu US Meet-N-Greet

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

I encourage everyone to head over to #ubuntu-us on Freenode tonight for the Ubuntu US Teams meeting. It’s going to be a really informal get together; members from all state LoCo teams are invited to show up and get to know their fellow Ubunteros around the nation. If you’re free at 7pm PST (8 pm MST, 9 pm CST & 10 pm EST), come on and get involved :)

Foxkeh’s March Wallpaper!

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

If you haven’t heard of Foxkeh, the ridiculously awesome Mozilla Japan mascot, you should definitely stop by his blog. I’ve been so busy lately that I forgot to look at the March Wallpaper. I need to decide between rocking Ubuntu’s Hardy Heron or Mozilla’s Foxkeh as my background. I love gnome-look.org and everything, but I’m just so glad I don’t have to resort to these..

Also, listen to the Ubuntu UK Podcast’s first episode. Relevant and professional, it’s a great way to catch up on some Ubuntu news. It’s definitely been added to my list of favorite podcast, and I’m excited to see what these guys do in the future.

Careful … Ballmer’s targeting Web Developers next…

I’m almost done studying Japanese for the night, so I decide to check out techmeme. Bad idea.

Web Developers, Web Developers, Web Developers.

2 Weeks Until Spring Break

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Supremely busy right now. Thinking over my application for Google’s Summer of Code, working on Common Lisp, studying for Linear Algebra, and hopefully finally getting paperwork through the bureaucracy of Chapman’s Student Employment office. I’m stoked to start working at the Networking office, it seems like I’ll get a lot of hands-on time and learn a lot.

Moral of the story: Get shiz done time.
